This week I had the pleasure of having 2 local paranormal hosts, investigators and ousters of all around bullshit that is pervade in the paranormal community these days:

These two guys were great to have sit down and talk with me about the investigations they have been on, the groups that they have been apart of and put together to find out whats behind the enigma that is all things paranormal.

Among the conversation was a very personal account of spirit attachment and what happens or could potentially happen when you provoke an entity. This was an intense conversation of how over 10 months the events following up to the dismissal of the entity changed his life forever. We of course talked about what we liked and don’t like in the world of paratainment…. wait a fucking minute! Did I just make up a term to describe paranormal TV and radio? Check Webster and then the Interweb to see if its true or not! I know he’s silly and he’s ignorant but sometimes it hits me like a bolt of lightning…. or a shock from sliding on the carpet, but I digress.

I again spit in the eye’s of the scientific community that most researches want credibility with so bad…. only to have my thoughts crushed by more reasonable minds. Damn you reason why can’t I just rant and rave in peace :)

We also got to hear a few of Shawn and Eric’s best EVP’s and they were awesome! They really were some of the best and most clear that I could hear. To prove it I was even able to tell what the EVP’s were saying and my hearing is miserable.

Tonights guests were recent speakers at last months Carolina Hauntings Apparitions and Poltergeist Society meet-up right here in Raleigh,NC talking about provocation during paranormal investigations.

They will join us to recap that presentation as well as come out guns blazing about what they like and dislike in the paranormal research community as a whole. CHAPS Wrap-up, Paranormal News and Open Lines

This week we will talk about this months CHAPS meet-up here in beautiful Raleigh North Carolina letting you all know what you missed out on with speakers Eric Singleton and Shawn Litton from Paranormal Revolution. Think along the lines of provoking spirits during paranormal investigations, who does it and why its a bad idea. This week we will be doing our Carolina Hauntings Apparitions and Poltergeist Society wrap-up show with presenter Jon Michael. Jon has been a member of the group for as long as we have been going at least. He also  has an extensive investigative background with his own group before joining the CHAPS group. I think Nicole will like his approach because as with most good researchers he has a hard time jumping to the conclusion of any activity being a “ghost”. I am also a big fan of his approach to how people front load EVP’s and misinterpret data as being paranormal. He will be joining us int he first hour along with Nikki, a co-founder of the group, to tell us what exactly they are all about on the second Tuesday of every month and the parent investigative group NSPIR.

Of course this week we will have much more arguing between Nicole and I about topic’s that have come up in the world of paranormal, UFO’s, the season premier of Falling Skies was this week! and all around strangeness.

James Strait is the author of a wildly popular book by the name of Weird Missouri. One of the best books out there for anyone interested in paranormal or just plain weird places to visit in the Show Me State. James will be on for the full 2 hours to talk about Weird Missouri and Deja Vu all over again, based on the Mayan prophecy that the world is going to end on 12-21-2012.

James has been on Coast To Coast Am and host’s his own show so check him out when you get a chance.

Will will dive into a lot of interesting topics this week so make sure you have your ears on because it will go from Bigfoot to UFO’s to Hauntings real fast. With this episode you should get a little dose of everything that tickles your fancy.

Archive: Laurie Champion

This week we welcomed a veteran in the field with over 34 years of experience in paranormal investigations by the name of Laurie Champion. That’s Champion not Chapman as I had previously stated live and in the other blog. Luckily for me she doesn’t mind the mistake and didn’t take me to the wood shed for it.

This week we ventured into a landmine of live radio and played some EVP recordings that Laurie provided for us for the show. I say this because outside of our old shows where we played the entire EVP sessions on previous investigations with our friends at Carolina Hauntings Apparitions and Poltergeist Society , this was the first time we had a producer along for the ride to help us. Thank to Joe Montaldo for helping with the playing of the recordings the first hour, as he said we really made him work for his $1.95 this week :)

The EVP’s were followed by Laurie giving a rundown o the investigation that she got the EVP from and helped us to decipher what was said. As you may know the interpretation of EVP’s is wide open so take it with a grain of salt if you like, form your own opinion or just sit back and enjoy the ride. In a previous meet-up we did a great experimental on what people hear and how to formulate a consensus, check out archive of CHAPS shows on blogtalk radio if you want to dig up that episode.

Moving on… we got to have a great conversation about her own experiences that got her interested in the field of paranormal research that began when she was younger of course. She helped us define what a Hostile Haunt is and how most people think that there haunting is hostile but in hind sight most of them are anything but hostile just more along the lines of creepy and scary to the people going through it. Which was a good point she brought up about how fear drives the human animal into formulating how they perceive paranormal activity.  We got her view on if any hauntings are demonically based or just spirit based.  Laurie went on to talk about who most of the spirits are that visit you from the afterlife and what they want to do. She also believes them to be very intelligent and fully capable to knowing when and where they are at all times. Which flies int he face of most researchers and how they feel most spirits are “lost”.

Archive: 1st Annual Halloween Extravaganza!

Well it’s in the magical Mind Cemetery cardboard box so you all know what that means. That’s right, the 1st Annual Halloween Extravaganza is up and on archive for all time on the internet! We had a very busy show this week and even extended it a bonus 30 minutes to allow us the time to provide to you a very special treat… or was it a trick? The world may never know for sure but it will be our secret until you give the show a listen and find out for yourselves.

What we can tell you is that in our first Halloween special we managed to cover a slew of topics: A short discussion on the future of the Mind Cemetery podcast (it’s not going away it’s just getting started and from here on out it’s nowhere but up!), an eagerly awaited announcement that is also Top Secret, Nicole and I shared our past Halloween costume choices, talked about hot costumes this year for adults and kids in the form of a top 10 list, one really sick and creepy story about the space needle in Gatlinburg, TN, our Mordecai House tour here in beautiful downtown Raleigh, NC, Heard a recording of a presentation by NSPIR founder George Matthis about his encounters at the Mordecai House, and MUCH, MUCH, MORE!

WHEW! That was one heck of a run-on sentence huh? Well it is just the tip of the iceberg of the 1st Annual Halloween Extravaganza and we hope you manage to run whatever Titanic your driving right smack into it! So, without further ado, enjoy the show!

Guests: CHAPS Wrap-up Show *Update*

This week we had only one guest be able to make it on, George Matthis. He is the Founder of INSPIR and the organizer of the Carolina Hauntings, Apparitions and Poltergeist Society AKA C.H.A.P.S. We started off nicely but then had a bit of technical difficulty, it is a live broadcast after all, that we had to overcome. We lost George after about 12 minutes into the show and ended up having to call into our own show to pull off the rest of it. A lot of good topics were discussed by your favorite hosts having to do with the legal issues that can arise during a paranormal investigation and we hope you get a chance to listen to the C.H.A.P.S. recording being played from 8-11-11. That episode is chalked full of good information from Roger Mcdorman and should be checked out if you’re an organizer of paranormal investigations, looking to start up a group or even just join in on an investigation some time.

In the last 10 minutes we did have another drop by our internet provided but Nicole put a nice little bow on the end of it and wrapped this puppy up for us all.

This week we will hold another Carolina Hauntings Apparitions and Poltergeist Society round table. Besides Nicole and I we will be joined by George Matthis, Nikki Morock and Local Attorney Roger McDorman. We will discuss the Meet-up this last Thursday, which you can catch in our archives and on the player right on the main page. We hope to have some call-ins to ask Mr. McDorman some potential legal issues that my arise when it comes to paranormal investigations. Things like what can I do to protect me or my group when on site during an investigation? How can I copyright the video, audio and still pictures? Why should i have waivers of liability signed for all that participate? And many, many more questions that you don’t get to ask or even have the chance to be answered.
