CHAPS Wrap-up and Paranormal News

This week we will b having a special gust on with us to discuss what went on during the latest CHAPS meet-up in Raleigh. As you know we are partnered with Carolina Hauntings, Apparitions and Poltergeist Society here in Raleigh, NC. They allow us to come in on investigations and if your a long time listener to the show you got to hear the actual recordings of the meet-up itself. These days we don’t record the meet-ups anymore but we do bring the information home to you. This week will be the first week we have a representative from the meet-up joining us. Kerry Mote, author and paranormal researcher/experiencer will join us to talk about the topic of how mental disorders and psychological issues come into play when talking about the paranormal. She will also cover her own work in the paranormal field along with a pre-investigation interview that will open the door further as to what is going on during a suspected or prospective paranormal investigation. It’s all about separating the wheat from the chafe.

Kerry will be on for the first hour so be sure to catch us Live at 9pm eastern.

The second hour will be our usual paranormal news segment where Nicole and I will hit on the latest topics and controversies in the paranormal, ufo and crypto world. And no doubt have a few head butts along the way.

This week we welcomed a veteran in the field with over 34 years of experience in paranormal investigations by the name of Laurie Champion. That’s Champion not Chapman as I had previously stated live and in the other blog. Luckily for me she doesn’t mind the mistake and didn’t take me to the wood shed for it.

This week we ventured into a landmine of live radio and played some EVP recordings that Laurie provided for us for the show. I say this because outside of our old shows where we played the entire EVP sessions on previous investigations with our friends at Carolina Hauntings Apparitions and Poltergeist Society , this was the first time we had a producer along for the ride to help us. Thank to Joe Montaldo for helping with the playing of the recordings the first hour, as he said we really made him work for his $1.95 this week

The EVP’s were followed by Laurie giving a rundown o the investigation that she got the EVP from and helped us to decipher what was said. As you may know the interpretation of EVP’s is wide open so take it with a grain of salt if you like, form your own opinion or just sit back and enjoy the ride. In a previous meet-up we did a great experimental on what people hear and how to formulate a consensus, check out archive of CHAPS shows on blogtalk radio if you want to dig up that episode.

Moving on… we got to have a great conversation about her own experiences that got her interested in the field of paranormal research that began when she was younger of course. She helped us define what a Hostile Haunt is and how most people think that there haunting is hostile but in hind sight most of them are anything but hostile just more along the lines of creepy and scary to the people going through it. Which was a good point she brought up about how fear drives the human animal into formulating how they perceive paranormal activity. We got her view on if any hauntings are demonically based or just spirit based. Laurie went on to talk about who most of the spirits are that visit you from the afterlife and what they want to do. She also believes them to be very intelligent and fully capable to knowing when and where they are at all times. Which flies int he face of most researchers and how they feel most spirits are “lost”.

Laurie is the founder and leader of a paranormal investigative group out of Florida by the name of Pinellas Pasco Paranormal and she specializes in Hostile Haunts. Whats a Hostile Haunt you may ask? we I have a good idea of what on is and I have even experienced one myself but, Laurie is the expert and she will join us for 2 hours and tell us what she uses to define a hostile haunt.

In this months CHAPS meet-up there was an open mic night. Nicole and I shared a few paranormal experiences of our own. In the process of that conversation we had a full on belief structure showdown. Finally, we get Nicole to admit she is not even a skeptic really, by classic definition. What we have here is a full blown denialist. In the truest form of the word: Existential.

This episode the chat room was alive and kicking for sure, a lot of great questions given to your hosts this episode. Thank You. Thanks to Trice and Stefanie for joining us tonight as well. They are hosts for 2 of the best shows on the UFO Paranormal Radio Network , A Global Focus Friday’s at 11pm eastern and Second Sight NYC .

We finally discussed on the air our Tweetfest with none other than Matt Moneymaker himself of the BFRO. take a listen and see what all the hoopla was about from Matt and why he didn’t like our interpretation of the Michigan tracker snubbing. Oh wait! That’s what all the hoopla was about, we called it a snubbing. Over is over and on to the next one I guess because your two favorite ”paranormal idiots” sorted it out real nice and simple. If you ever have a chance to go Bigfoot Hunting then they are the people to see, one of the biggest organizations that help people hone the skills to find Bigfoot in there neck of the woods.

We talked about the new picture of what looks like a Monolith on Mars that was released. RC Hoaggie is just tickled that this was release because you know of course this is proof that cat people are living on Mars as remnants of an ancient mars civilization that once…. oh FUCK ME you get the point!

We talked about the Russian Plasma UFO that had people baffled in St. Petersburg. Needless to say the local authorities are no commenting on the video of an orb in the skies.

lastly, we even got to slip in a UFONUT.com comment or two. first we mentioned that Openminds.tv released a new video of Chuck talking about why he was forced to resign from the Sheriff’s Dept. as a volunteer. All over a cattle mutilation and how to charge an animal with cruelty to an animal all to close/ cover-up a case. earlier in the episode I referenced him in an answer on how to go about new techniques for investigating paranormal activity.

On 3-26-12 we were joined by our special guest Matthew Alper, Author of The God Part of the Brain: A Scientific Interpretation of Human Spirituality and God. If hat sounds like a mouthful think again, it’s a brain full. We talkd about the way other species on the planet are genetically predisposed to take on certain traits or even behaviors. For example, the ability for Bees to build a honey comb in a certain pattern or even a cats ability to groom themselves. No transfer that logic to the Human animal and how our brains were designed bast off of our DNA strands. Why does every culture on the planet no matter where it springs up always look to explain the unexplained? Now, thats the “God” part of the brain coming into formation and turning our thoughts to the spiritual world or even the afterlife in general. Are people that believe in the afterlife or “God” simply going through life living on hope? Does the belief in an afterlife really come down to a coping mechanism for humans to use to help them get through hard times in there lives? As for this Host lets just say that I sure hope its not a exercise in futility. Because if there truly is nothing beyond this life then I would much rather go through it thinking that there is a chance at an afterlife because if there is no hope for one then what is the point of life? Is it as precious as we think it is or is it just as common as sand on a beach?

Ignorance is truly bliss, that is proven day after day and to think that millions and millions of people would curl up in a ball if faced with the futility of there own mortality and the finalization that death brings wouldn’t be as great a world to be apart of or even part of a species of mammal that is nothing more than the first one to wear pants.

Mind…… BLOWN!

The second hour of our show you got to hear Nicole and I talk about the season finale of everyone’s Zombie favorite: The Walking Dead. We ignored, for lack of a better word, the season finale the previous episode in the paranormal news segment so we hit all the ins and outs of the episode and even the season in general. We do have some spoilers but hey the reality of it is that if you do your homework on the show and the Comic series then none of what we talked about is a surprise. My best advise for a Zombie Apocalypse is to get a chainsaw and go to work! I mean gas isn’t an issue so go crazy, thin the herd and keep moving sure it makes noise but when your surrounded who cares!

Enjoy the chatter in the second hour and try and wrap your head around The God Part of the Brain.

Who is Matthew Alper you ask? The Author of “The “God” Part of The Brain: A Scientific Interpretation of Human Spirituality and God” that’s who. He has also been a regular guest for years on none other than the world famous Coast to Coast AM.

Now lets learn about Matt directly from his website.. What a concept!

From early childhood–when he first realized he was one day going to die–Matthew Alper set himself upon a life journey to ascertain whether or not there exists a spiritual reality, a God. Was he merely a flesh and bone mortal or something more, something that perhaps transcended the restrictions of his fragile and very mortal physical existence? After receiving a BA in Philosophy, Matthew continued his unconventional journey working as everything from a photographer’s assistant in NYC, a 5th grade and High School history teacher in the projects of Brooklyn, a truck smuggler in Central Africa, a screenwriter in Germany, and then back to NYC where he wrote what he considers his life’s work, The “God” Part of the Brain. Since it’s initial publication in 1996, Matthew has lectured all over the United States, appeared on NBC tv, been written up in the Washington Post, done numerous radio shows and is a contributor to the anthology, “Neurotheology,” an emergent new science of which he is considered one of its founders. He presently lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn with his cat, Sucio.

C.H.A.P.S. Wrap-up and Paranormal News Show Archive Blog

Well its Wednesday night and I finally got around to posting the blog with the link tot he archive, Better late than never huh? This week I did my best to try and explain to our new thousands and thousands of listeners just what the Carolina Hauntings, Apparitions and Poltergeist Society meet-up group actually was. We talked about the founder George Matthis and his presentation on 3-18-12 to the good people that joined us in beautiful Raleigh, NC. The meet-up group is the public side of an investigative group headed by George and assisted by Nikki, Demetria, Kerry, Dale and Tomie known as NSPIR. You got to hear why turned me on to the group to begin with and how the investigative techniques were vastly different from what you see coming out of the TV shows. This is a good thing of course because it’s Hollywood after all. This weekend I will be joining NSPIR in an investigation of the Ferry Plantation house located in Virginia Beach, Va. The investigation will be featured in an episode to follow in the month of April so check it out and lets hope we get some great data int he way of audio, video or personal experiences. Notice I didn’t call it “evidence”? There’s a good reason for that folks. Then of course for our new listeners you got a healthy dose of me ranting. Whats this you say? A rant? It can’ be. I know I seem so un-opinionated during the show that its hard to believe I would shoot my mouth off about someone in the field of research that I don’t care for there latest rounds of shenanigans. Well this week I tuned my wrath and lazer pointed it in on none other than Jim Penniston and John Burroughs the infamous experiencers of all things UFO and strange at the Bentwaters air base near the Rendelsham Forest in the U.K. Why did I get pissed off? Listen for yourselves its at about the half way mark of the show. To say the least its more complicated to explain here… just listen, its easier.

The rest of the show we managed to get into a discussion on one of the best guests i think that has been floating around the airwaves of various paranormal podcasts and radio shows: Thomas Fusco. I believe hi latest ideas about the manipulation of gravity are some of the best explanations for HOW the various anomalous events occur in the UFO and Paranormal world in general. Nicole of course thinks differently and we get into a great discussion and hilarities ensue.

The rest of the show we go back and forth about various news, nuggets and tidbits we found in our Google reader cue, arguing the relevance and so on. Of course we butted heads on a few stories and my favorite was the DC Demon Cat.

This is a great episode for any new listeners to get to know us better as hosts and a couple in general. We had a famous individual in the chat room as well giving us hell and laughing all the way by the name of Sasha Christie. You may remember her from earlier as a guest and she has a new show upcoming on The UFO Paranormal Radio Network called: Citizen Sane, check it out!

Paranormal news and the Carolina Hauntings, Apparitions and Poltergeist Society Show

We introduce to our fans the Carolina Hauntings Apparitions and Poltergeist Society here in beautiful Raleigh, North Carolina AKA CHAPS. Who are they? What do they do? How do they do it?

This week we talk all the latest and greates paranormal and UFO news form the past month. We talk Cryptozoology stories, Ghosts, Wierd news and even our favorite UFO tales from the far reaches of the Earth.

We also open up a can of act right to the people of a few o our favoite websites and Facebook pages… can’t wait for that fun conversation with Nicole.

Nicole and I will talk Tom Fusco. Why? Well the longer I think about it the more I feel that he is on the right path to understanding and explaining pretty much a majority of Paranormal and UFO related events. The nut sand bolts that is or as he would describe it the weapon or tool used to make it all happen.

Am I right or an I wrong? Who knows but I’m sure Nicole will tell me one way or another.

Tonight we joined the UFO Paranormal Radio Network for the first time with only minor tweaks needed for the future. Joined by none other than Biblical scholar Michael Heiser. Michael is well know to many in radio and podcast land as he has done countless interviews and is a favorite of the most popular radio show on the planet Coast to Coast Am.

Nicole kicked it into overdrive for this show and was highly motivated to discuss the interpretations of the bible by modern man considering it was written with the ancient man in mind. The catholic school didn’t go to waste after all. I also tossed out my favorite question for all biblical scholars when it comes to aliens and extraterrestrials, The one passage that makes m question the whole ball o wax on whether aliens could o do exist. Its a simple line that I feel gets looked over and Michael helped me out to understand why I get tripped up on it and how it related to the ancient reader.

Of course we discussed his book The Facade. The ins, the outs and all the facts that coincided with the fiction parts o the book. when you think of The Facade think more along the lines of another bestseller in the UFO community, After Disclosure. for some reason people get hung up on parts of The Facade being fiction and on the other hand totally except After Disclosure as a fantastic novel. Don’t get me wrong, BOTH books are great and they help unroll ideas and concepts for those in the human race that need to have training wheels put on concepts like disclosure and alien life being intelligent and visiting us her eon Earth. Check i out, its a great read and will help you get you feet wet if your even slightly interested in UFO’s and Alien intelligence.
